Bagpipe capital of the world, over 100 bagpipes are on display. Audioguides allow you to discover the sound, and a film presents the practice.
Come and travel throughout Europe, the Indo-Persian world and other regions of the globe where bagpipes are played. From the cabrette to the hurdy-gurdy, accordion and fiddle, there's only one step to take you from the 1900s to the present day. We propose a five-stage tour, enlightened by films and historical and educational mediation aids - A space dedicated to the cabrette and traditions of the Massif Central. - A series of showcases featuring bagpipes from around the world, accompanied by historical and iconographic documents. - A reconstructed 19th-century cabrette maker's workshop. - A space dedicated to dance and the instruments that accompany the bagpipes at festive moments: the hurdy-gurdy, the violin - A temporary exhibition space, currently on the theme of childhood, with "Paysage sonore d'un enfant de l'Aubrac".
