The Elancèze

Description

At an altitude of 1571m, not far from the Col du Pertus, this summit offers breathtaking views of the Monts du Cantal, including Puy Mary and Plomb du Cantal.

In Occitan: Las Lancesas. There isn't just one summit, but two, hence the plural las lancesas, in Occitan: les pointes, les lances, les élancées. For hikers, Elancèze lies on the GR4/400 route between Thiézac and Puy Griou. It is easily accessible from the Col du Pertus (1h one way) and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Cantal Volcano (Puy Griou, Puy Mary, Jordanne valley, Plomb du Cantal, Cère valley...). An ideal spot for a family outing!
