Discover one of the prettiest waterfalls in the département! At an altitude of 1010m, the Faillitoux waterfall offers an impressive 41m drop. It crosses a lava flow that has formed basaltic organs at the foot of the waterfall.
The Faillitoux site is nestled in the hills above Thiézac, just beyond the hamlet of Lasmolineries. This rock face, made of basaltic organs, is impressive, and you can read about the history of the Cantalien volcano and this lava flow... This waterfall is very popular, and when you get to the foot of it, it's easy to see why! A hiking trail is now signposted from the hamlet, taking you on a 1.5-hour tour of this magical site and its little-known history. Further information is available from the Office de Tourisme du Carladès.
